Best MakeUp Products for Glowing Skin

makeup products glowing skin

All of us want that dewy, glowing skin that we see on social media every day.  Well, these products I’m going to show you are my favorite and some of the best makeup products for glowing skin.

One of the things that I get asked on a lot in my DMs on Instagram is:  What are the products that I use or recommend for flawless skin?  I am really big on skincare, and these are some of the best products I have ever used.  This post does not include all of the more detailed products I use, such as, cheekbone highlighter, eye liner, mascara, etc.  I will make sure to do another dedicated post to those products with suggestions.

Years of trying foundations and this is it.

But, for now, let’s talk about the base of your face.  Your foundation.  It’s taken me years of testing out different foundations, be it powder or liquid foundations, matte or creamy finish, and none of them accomplished that dewy glow that I just love seeing.  I hate a crusty makeup look.  You know which one I’m talking about.

I can’t promise to eliminate creasing or to deliver perfection, especially since a lot of the results also depend on your technique applying the makeup, as well as, if you use your fingers or a beauty sponge, like the Beauty Blender.  What I can tell you is that these products are top notch, and you will not be disappointed.

I personally can’t stand the messiness of using my fingers and hands to apply makeup.  However, I will be the first to tell you that it will make your foundation last longer if you apply the makeup with your hands, versus letting a sponge absorb a lot of the foundation.  This, in turn, will save you money and make the foundation last a lot longer.

Products I use

So, let’s just get to it.  I’m sure you can already see in the picture the main base products that I use on my face.  And I realize that they are a bit pricey if you look up those prices.  But you get what you pay for.  I have tried other brands and end up with creasing on my face that no matter how much blending I did, it just didn’t help the creasing.

These products are lightweight, yet buildable.  What do I mean by that?  Well, if you ever zoom into my face, lol, or have the opportunity to look at my face up front, you will see I have freckles.  Yes, this Puerto Rican Latina has freckles.  And they really come out more in the summer when I’m in the sun.  Sometimes, I’m okay with them.  Other times, I just can’t deal.

So, the foundation I use is lightweight and buildable allowing me to apply more to those areas and conceal them on those occasions that I just don’t want to see them.

Luminous Silk Foundation by Giorgio Armani.

It blends in so seamlessly with my natural skin color that many people don’t even realize I’m wearing any foundation, including my husband.  And, trust me, my husband notices everything because he can’t stand that dry, crusty makeup look.  He prefers that natural glow, and so do I. This foundation accomplishes that to perfection for me.  I apply it using any of the assorted cosmetic sponges that you can buy at any regular supermarket or drug store, such as, CVS or Walgreens.

The exact foundation I use is here:  Luminous Silk Oil-Free Foundation – Armani Beauty (giorgioarmanibeauty-usa.com). The cost is $65. Ugh babes, I KNOW this may seem steep. But I promise you, this foundation is it.  This is as close to leaving skin flawless as you’re going to get. But that’s also my opinion based on my experience with my skin so please feel free to try it and let me know your experience with it.

IL MAKIAGE Concealer

For my concealer, I was really excited to try out this brand that I constantly was seeing on my Instagram Feed and then on every channel on TV.  It was like it was screaming to me.  The brand is called IL MAKIAGE and they swear that if you take their online quiz, that they will match your skin to perfection.  Well, honey, let me tell you that little quiz did what it advertised it would do.  It matched my concealer to my skin to utter perfection.

I apply this under my eyes and on top of my eye lids, as a bit of a primer, with the wand that it comes with.  Then I blend it with a cosmetic sponge after letting it sit for at least 30 seconds to a minute.  I find that it adheres to my skin better.  Here is a link to the concealer I use: F*CK I’M FLAWLESS – Concealer – Face (ilmakiage.com)

Now, I have to be honest.  The foundation that they sent me did NOT match my skin color AT ALL.  It was quite a bit darker, and so that was disappointing.  However, they did reach out and refund my money.  I can only recommend what I know works.  And their concealer with the online quiz worked to perfection babes.

Veil, by Hourglass Translucent Powder

I know the beauty industry sells so many different translucent powders, but trust me, they are not all the same.  My latest love of translucent powder is Veil, by the brand Hourglass.  Babes, listen to me.  This translucent powder isn’t just any powder.  It leaves you with this natural glow that stays on for hours.

Powder & Sculpt brush by Charlotte Tillbury

The next step I take is that I apply the Veil translucent powder with my favorite brush by Charlotte Tillbury.  It is so soft and the perfect size to really get under your eyes with more precision.

When applying this translucent powder, have patience.  You will see me use this word a lot lol. When you first brush the powder on, it will look super white.  Ignore that.  Just apply all over your face with the brush and slowly blend it in little by little.  Before you know it, everything will be blended TO THE GODS with this beautiful, natural glow all over your face.

Here is the link to the translucent powder, Veil by Hourglass.  It costs $46.  Veil™ Translucent Setting Powder – Hourglass Cosmetics

Charlotte Tillbury makes the soft brush I use to apply the powder. It does cost $49 but it is gentle and soft on your skin and has lasted me years.  Charlotte Tilbury Powder & Sculpt Brush | Nordstrom

KKW Beauty Contour & Highlighter Sticks

I absolutely love these little creamy sticks.  They get the job done and are easily blendable.  I use the medium contour and the medium highlighter for my nose just to define it a bit more.  If you can get your hands on these, and I’ll explain a bit more below, be careful because they are very rich and concentrated.

Make sure to blend them with a good blending brush or sponge.  I personally use a sponge because it allows me to remove excess, if need be, a bit easier, but play with these products and find what works for you best.

Unfortunately, if you go to the KKW Beauty website, it looks like Kim Kardashian is doing away with this whole line, but someone please correct me if I’m wrong.  Therefore, I can’t link these products, though I do see some people reselling them on other websites.  I’m not so sure I can trust that.

Therefore, for complete transparency, and since everyone is asking me what I’m currently using, this is it.  Once they run out, I can update you all on which contouring sticks or products I’ve switched to.

And that’s it babes.  I’ll be posting more content regarding eyeshadows, eye liners, mascara, lashes, etc. in one of my next posts so…stay tuned and hit that subscribe button.  Love you all.
